Major-Minor

Overview

Here is a set of chord changes from a 1960’s pop tune. Write a song (words and melody) using them. You can play them at any temp you wish,  faster or slower, and you can transpose them into a key that better suits your voice, but these are the changes you’re working with, and in this order as well.

Discussion

What we are paying attention to here is how a chord transitions from Major to Minor as a means of giving harmonic movement to the music. This is repeated a number of times throughout the song - indeed, it is the main structural feature of this particular piece.

Below is the song in its original key, B, also in the key of C, which might be easier for you to play it in, and the chord number notation of it as well. Below that are the spellings of the various chords.
